Eleusis Digital Canvas (“Eleusis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
This policy covers four different things, and the rules are not the same for each:
- This website — www.eleusisdigitalcanvas.com.
- The CLIO applications — the CLIO Controller and the other applications used to operate an Eleusis Digital Canvas.
- The CLIO system installed at your property — the server and player that run your canvas.
- The Clio Portal — the account-based web portal at clio.eleusisdigitalcanvas.com, used by clients and dealers to manage systems remotely.
At a glance
| Product | What Eleusis collects about you |
|---|---|
| This website | Details you submit through forms, messages you type into the AI assistant, and analytics about your visit. |
| CLIO applications | Nothing. No personal data is collected, and there is no tracking or advertising of any kind. |
| Your installed CLIO system | Technical health and operating activity of the equipment, so we can keep it running and support it. Not the content you watch. |
| Clio Portal | Your account details and a record of actions taken in the portal. |
The sections below give the detail. This summary is provided for convenience and does not replace them.
1. The CLIO Applications
This section applies to the CLIO Controller and the other applications used to operate an Eleusis Digital Canvas, including versions distributed through an app store.
What we collect: nothing
The CLIO applications do not collect any personal data, and they do not track you. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no third-party trackers, and no data is shared with data brokers. Nothing you do in the application is transmitted to Eleusis for analysis or profiling. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell.
The applications do not require you to create an Eleusis account, and they do not ask for your name, email address, or contact details.
What is stored on your device
The application saves the network address of your CLIO system, and a short-lived record of systems it has found, so it can reconnect without asking you again. This is stored on your device, read only by the application itself, and removed when you uninstall it. It is never transmitted to us.
Local network access
The application asks for permission to access your local network. It needs this for a single purpose: to find and connect to your own CLIO system on your own network. It does not scan your network for anything else, and it does not report what it finds to us or to anyone else.
Signing in to other services
Some content sources require you to sign in before your canvas can display them. When you sign in from within the application, the resulting session is passed to your own CLIO system, on your own local network, so that your canvas can display the content you asked for.
This transfer happens directly between your device and your own equipment, at your request, and never leaves your network. It does not pass through Eleusis. We do not receive, store, transmit, or have access to your passwords or your session data for any third-party service, and we will never ask you for them. Your relationship with those services continues to be governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and you can sign out of them at any time.
2. The CLIO System Installed at Your Property
What stays on your premises
Your system configuration, the media and artwork on your canvas, your presets and schedules, and any network video sources you choose to connect (such as your own cameras) are held and processed on your own equipment, at your property.
What your system reports to us
So that we can keep your canvas working and support it properly, your system sends us a regular status report — roughly every five minutes. It covers:
- Technical health — processor, memory, and storage use, network status, software versions, and whether the system is online.
- Faults and errors — recent errors and playback interruptions, so we can diagnose problems, often before you notice them.
- Operating activity — a record of what the system did and what triggered it: presets activated, power, brightness and volume changes, and source or playlist changes, noted as coming from the controller at the wall, the portal, a schedule, or an automation.
- Approximate location of the installation— the city, region, and country, together with approximate map coordinates, determined from the system’s internet connection. We use this to set time zone and daylight behaviour, to show your systems on a map, and for support. It is an estimate based on an internet connection rather than satellite positioning, it describes the equipment and not any person, and we do not track anyone’s movements.
What your system does not send us
For a standard residential or private installation, we do not receive the images, artwork, or video your canvas displays, and we do not receive video or audio from any cameras or other sources connected to it. We cannot see what is on your wall.
Systems running commercial or advertising content are the exception: those deployments generate a record of which content was displayed and when, because reporting of that kind is what commercial campaigns require. This applies only to systems configured for that purpose, and never to a private residence.
3. The Clio Portal
The Clio Portal is an account-based web application used by clients, dealers, and our own team to manage CLIO systems remotely. If you have not been given a portal account, this section does not apply to you.
- Account information — your name, email address, the role assigned to you, and the organization your account belongs to. Sign-in is handled through a managed identity service; we do not store your password.
- Activity records — pages you view and actions you take in the portal, together with the time, your internet address, and your browser type. This is kept for security, access control, troubleshooting, and to understand how the portal is used.
- System information — the systems your organization is entitled to see, and the status information described in Section 2.
Portal accounts are issued by us or by your dealer. To close an account and have its personal information deleted, contact us at info@eleusisdigitalcanvas.com — see Section 8.
4. This Website
We may collect the following when you use this website:
- Contact information — name, email address, phone number, company or location, and project details you submit through our contact, support, or consultation forms.
- Communications — messages, emails, or phone conversations related to quotes, installations, or support.
- AI assistant conversations — the messages you type into the assistant on this site. These are processed by Anthropic to generate a reply, and a record of the conversation is retained so we can follow up on enquiries and improve the assistant. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the chat.
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and general location derived from IP (city/region level).
- Analytics data — interactions with our site collected via Google Analytics, Plausible Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity (which records anonymized session interactions such as clicks, scrolling, and navigation to help us improve usability and find bugs).
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers or financial account details through this website. Payment arrangements, when applicable, are handled separately and securely outside of routine form submissions.
5. How We Use Information
- Respond to inquiries, consultation requests, and quote requests
- Provide sales, design, installation, and customer support services
- Keep installed systems running — monitoring for faults, diagnosing problems, and delivering software updates
- Operate and secure the Clio Portal, including access control and audit records
- Improve our website, products, and user experience
- Send service-related communications (not unsolicited marketing without consent)
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use any of this information for advertising or profiling, and we do not use your system or portal activity to market to you.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers. We may share information with:
- Service providers — hosting, infrastructure, and content delivery (Amazon Web Services, Vercel, Cloudflare, Neon), analytics (Google Analytics, Plausible, Microsoft Clarity), email delivery (SendGrid), and Anthropic, which processes the messages you type into the AI assistant on this site in order to generate a reply. These providers act on our instructions and may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Your dealer or integrator — where your system was sold, installed, or is serviced by an authorized partner, they may have access to your system information in order to support you.
- Installation partners — authorized integrators or contractors involved in your project, only as needed to fulfill your request.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of your information.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
This section applies to this website only. The CLIO applications do not use cookies for tracking and contain no advertising or analytics technologies.
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate our site and understand how visitors use it. These may include:
- Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality and security (including Cloudflare protection).
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us understand traffic patterns, navigation, and where visitors encounter friction so we can improve content, usability, and reliability. (Plausible, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Vercel Analytics are cookie-free and do not set cookies.)
We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this website. We do not use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel or Google Ads tags.
When you first visit, non-essential cookies — the analytics tags above (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) — are not loaded until you accept them through our cookie banner. Privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (Plausible, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Vercel Analytics) run by default; they do not use cookies and do not identify you.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in our website footer, or through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality. Where required, we honor applicable opt-out signals and consent preferences.
8. How Long We Keep Information
- Enquiries and support requests — kept for as long as needed to answer you and to maintain a record of the work, and then for as long as we have a business or legal reason to keep them.
- Detailed system and portal activity records — retained for approximately 90 days, then deleted automatically. Summary records, which show usage over time rather than individual events, are kept for longer so we can support systems across their service life.
- System registration and configuration records — kept for as long as the system is in service.
- Website analytics— retained according to each provider’s standard retention period.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions in the Clio Portal, and reputable third-party infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your information
- Request that we close your Clio Portal account and delete its personal information
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Limit use of cookies via our cookie banner, your browser, or platform settings
- Ask us not to sell or share your personal information — we do not do either, but you may still make the request
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@eleusisdigitalcanvas.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we will not treat you differently for making a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting, particularly for deletion requests.
Please note that some information cannot be deleted on request while it is still needed — for example, records we must keep to support a system that is in service, or to meet a legal or contractual obligation. If that applies, we will tell you.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
Our site may link to third-party websites (social media, partner sites, content platforms), and your canvas may display content from services you connect to it. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information or connecting an account.
12. Children's Privacy
Our website, applications, and services are not directed to individuals under 18, and are not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Where We Operate
Eleusis Digital Canvas is based in the United States, and the information described in this policy is processed in the United States. We install and support systems worldwide; if you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of our website, applications, or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
